Kim Chong M.D.
President
Dr. Kim Chong is a board-certified dermatologist. She completed her medical degree at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, followed by dermatology training at Kaiser Foundation Hospital and fellowship training in cutaneous oncology at UC San Francisco Medical Center.
Marcia Hogeling M.D.
Vice President
Dr. Marcia Hogeling is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in dermatology and pediatric dermatology. She completed her medical degree at the University of British Columbia, followed by pediatric and dermatology training at McMaster University, the University of Ottawa, and UCSF. At UCLA, she is a key member of the vascular birthmarks team. Her research includes pioneering work on propranolol for infantile hemangiomas. Dr. Hogeling is also dedicated to teaching and mentoring while providing specialized care to pediatric patients.
Jan Smogorzewski M.D.
Secretary-Treasurer
Dr. Jan Smogorzewski is a board-certified dermatologist. He is Chief of Dermatology at Los Angeles General Medical Center and Associate Program Director of the Dermatology Residency Training Program at Harbor- UCLA Medical Center. He completed his medical degree at David Geffen School of Medicine University of California, internal medicine internship at UC San Diego and dermatology residency at USC.

Kathy Erickson
Executive Director
Kathy Erickson (Sullivan) has been with the LA Metro Derm Society since 1997 and has served as Executive Director since 1999. With over three decades of experience managing multiple medical groups, Kathy expertly oversees the day-to-day operations of the Society, ensuring its growth and success. She also coordinates the Society’s Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, maintaining the highest standards in educational offerings for the dermatology community.
